Zoom hypnotherapy is a form of hypnotherapy in which the hypnotherapist uses a type of online software, called Zoom, to help the client. The result is the ability to have online hypnotherapy sessions that can be taken one-to-one or in groups without having to travel.

Online hypnotherapy is designed to help people with all types of issues overcome them, much the same as having face to face hypnotherapy sessions. It also helps people with anxiety and panic disorders overcome their symptoms.

What is Hypnotherapy?

People are often confused about hypnotherapy. Some people think that hypnotherapy is when a hypnotherapist uses their professional abilities to hypnotize a person. But that’s not really what hypnotherapy is.

Hypnosis is a state of mind where our thoughts are less and less engaged with the outside world and more and more focused on the subconscious mind, which can be thought of as an alternate reality, or as a “subconscious”. Most people know they exist but tend to forget about them, so when we talk about hypnosis we’re talking about the subconscious mind: The ability to access something that is not normally available to us.

But what does it mean if someone can access something that isn’t normally accessible? Hypnosis allows for people to access things that they would typically find difficult or impossible to access through other means. For example, maybe you have a lot of faith in things you don’t, like your intuition, but you may be afraid of asking for help because you think asking others would make you weak or vulnerable — and therefore unfit to handle certain situations yourself.

The way hypnotism works is by engaging the subconscious mind with certain suggestions or trigger words (such as ‘hypnotist’, ‘hypnotic suggestion’), and slowly exposing it over time until it accepts the suggestion and takes on some of its characteristics (such as being easygoing, susceptible to suggestion). This process can take anywhere from minutes up to hours depending on how well-trained the hypnotist is (the more experience a person has in this field, the better they will do).

Once hypnotized, then this individual will be able to focus more on their real-life without any distractions from their subconscious mind — which can have positive effects for them too!

What is Zoom hypnotherapy?

Online hypnotherapy is basically hypnosis sessions delivered online. In the past, Skype was the preferred choice until Zoom became bigger. The Coronavirus lockdowns increased the popularity of Zoom to help people to stay in touch with their families. These lockdowns moved more hypnotherapists to online hypnotherapy as they were less able to deliver in-person sessions. This meant that an experienced hypnotherapist is still able to help people achieve their goals through hypnosis.

Personally, I have been running online hypnotherapy sessions since 2010. I started by practising with friends from America while I was training and have developed my online hypnotherapy practice from there. I have helped many people in the UK and USA struggling with stress and depression to those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I have been working with clients online for over 10 years now.

Online hypnotherapy is useful because it allows us to apply the techniques and tools that I used in my previous work so that they could apply them in their own lives once they were ready for it.

If you imagine a stack of children’s building blocks, traditional therapy works from looking at the top block until that can be removed and working it’s way down. Fears and Phobias – Fear and phobia hypnosis can also be done online. Similar to depression we will look at the root cause of the issue and once that is resolved we will give you techniques that help you to feel good where you used to feel fear.

Pain Management – You can receive hypnosis sessions online for dealing with chronic pain and all other types of pain issues including learning how to use self-hypnosis for pain management.

Online Hypnotherapy Session – What To Expect

There are some shortcuts you can take to make your first session faster and easier than going to the therapist’s office. Your practice is more likely to be successful if you do things like:

  1. Make sure that your phone is off or in silent mode. You don’t want to be getting disturbed during your session.
  2. Take the time to get ready for the appointment. This means that you should write down any questions you may have before your initial online consultation or notes about changes experienced between future sessions.
  3. Clear your schedule so you have plenty of time to speak with your hypnotist beforehand and make sure you have access to healthy food and beverages, including water.
  4. Practice relaxing before your session by practising relaxation techniques (such as meditation or yoga), which can become automatic when done regularly during sessions in front of a hypnotist.
  5. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If your internet connection is up and down a lot it won’t be a convenient alternative for you. A reliable internet connection is paramount.

You’ve probably heard of hypnotherapy. It’s all the rage these days and has been for a long time. If you put your mind to it, you can probably find some form of hypnosis or psychologist’s jargon to describe what makes it tick. But does online therapy work?

If getting the best result is what’s more important to you, then either method will be right for you. If it is more important to you that you are in the same room as the hypnotherapist then face to face sessions are better for you. If you want to work with someone in a different part of the world that you feel is the best fit for you then online hypnotherapy is the best option for you.

A Personal Story About Why I Love Online Hypnotherapy

Since I started training in hypnotherapy back in 2010, I was always interested in how online hypnotherapy could work and be beneficial to both the person receiving hypnotherapy and myself. Back then our internet connection wasn’t as fast or stable as they are now and once every now and then, the connection would drop out.

This led to working out strategies to help the client to release whatever they were clearing at the time the connection dropped. Fortunately, these days our internet connection has improved vastly and this doesn’t happen anymore. Now, 2-hour sessions from a mobile phone are possible.

For instance, I have been able to help someone via Whatsapp in South Africa that was terrified of flying home get back to the UK. Online hypnotherapy has allowed me to work with people in America that have been through childhood trauma and now have happy and fulfilling relationships with their parents.

Personally, I have received great healings and training from places such as Mexico and Bali. The world is much more open than it ever was before thanks to online hypnotherapy. No matter where in the world you are, this is available to you too.

How to Get Started With Online Hypnotherapy

Then it is great to think about how you would like your life to look after that issue is gone. What will you be doing differently? How will you be reacting differently? How will you be thinking differently? What is the positive outcome you would love to achieve?

Online hypnotherapy is the bridge from where you are to where you want to be. Your online sessions will help you to build the strong foundations to support that bridge and help you to put each section into place.

I find that using earphones are better than your standard microphone. Sometimes mobile phone mics will cut out your own voice if there is any sound coming through from my end. Earphones stop this from happening as your mic is no longer picking up my voice.

If you are using your mobile it is also a good idea to have a little tripod or something to prop your phone up. That way, I can see what is happening with you rather than staring at your ceiling.
